Overview
AQUACEL® Ag Advantage is an antimicrobial wound dressing for acute and hard-to-heal wounds that are infected or at risk of infection. It combines Hydrofiber® technology with MORE THAN SILVER™ to support biofilm control within the dressing and help maintain a moist healing environment.
Hydrofiber technology
- Rapidly absorbs exudate and transforms into a soft gel to help maintain moisture balance and support healing.
- Locks in exudate and bacteria to help reduce the effects of maceration and cross-infection.
- Conforms to the wound bed to minimize dead space where bacteria can proliferate.
Antimicrobial technology
- NEW ADVANTAGE TECHNOLOGY is more than just silver: a unique formulation that enhances the antimicrobial effectiveness of ionic silver within the dressing.
- Faster reduction of bacteria within the dressing compared with AQUACEL® Ag Extra and ACTICOAT™.
- Eliminates a broad range of bacteria within the dressing, including antibiotic-resistant microorganisms.
- Sustained antimicrobial activity within the dressing for up to 7 days and prevents reformation of microbes within the dressing.

Use
- Apply directly over the wound and leave in place to allow the dressing to gel as it becomes moistened by exudate.
- Change as needed; typically every 1–2 days.
Contraindication
- Do not use in patients with known sensitivity to any component of the dressing.
