Overview
Tuff-Temp Plus by PULPDENT is a dual-cure provisional crown and bridge resin for fabricating temporary crowns, bridges, veneers, and multi-unit provisional restorations, including procedures using a suitable matrix. The material is based on PULPDENT’s MODULUS rubberized-urethane (rubberized-resin) technology designed to enhance durability, impact resistance, dimensional stability, and margin accuracy.

Working and curing times
- Working time: approximately 45 seconds
- Initial self-cure: approximately 2 minutes from start of mix
- Final self-cure: approximately 4 minutes 45 seconds from start of mix
- Optional light cure: approximately 20 seconds with a halogen curing light as specified in the instructions for use

The manufacturer reports high fracture and impact resistance and notes performance advantages over some conventional bis-acrylic and acrylic provisional materials.

Finishing and polishing
- Trims cleanly to a powder without pulling or distortion

- Tuff-Temp Provisional Glaze may be used to obtain a glossier final surface
General chairside procedure
- Make a preoperative impression or matrix of the area using a suitable impression material.
- Prepare the abutment teeth.
- Prepare the matrix/template.
- Load the matrix from the bottom up to minimize bubble formation.
- Seat the matrix over the prepared teeth.
- Remove the matrix at the time specified in the product instructions.
- Remove the provisional from the matrix.
- Remove excess material and refine margins.
- Finish and polish.
- Apply glaze if desired to achieve the final surface.
- Cement the provisional with an appropriate temporary cement.
