Overview

Foley vs. other urinary catheters

“Urinary catheter” is a broad term. A Foley catheter is a specific type that includes a balloon to help secure the catheter inside the bladder. Thus, a Foley catheter is one form of urinary catheter, but not all urinary catheters are Foley catheters.
