Electrotherapy Pen Electrode (Compex)
Compact pen-style electrode designed for use with most EMS/NMES stimulators that accept 2 mm pin leads. Used to precisely locate muscle motor points to optimize placement of self-adhesive electrodes and improve the efficiency of therapeutic or sports stimulation sessions.
How it works
When the pen is gently moved across the skin, it delivers low, directed electrical pulses. Contact with the exact motor point produces a clear, slight muscle contraction, indicating the optimal site for placing adhesive electrodes.
Clinical benefits
- Precise motor point localization to support accurate pad placement and efficient stimulation.
- Supports rehabilitation and activation of weak or atrophied muscles after injuries or surgery.
- Aids recovery by helping relieve pain, reduce swelling, and facilitate clearance of lactic acid after intense exercise or sports injuries.
- Promotes blood flow to muscle tissue, supporting joint and muscle flexibility.
Applications
- Physiotherapy clinics for targeted pain management and neuromuscular re-education.
- Sports rehabilitation centers following ligament surgeries or muscle tears.
- Athletes and professionals at home using Compex stimulators.
Compatibility and technical notes
